About this deal

The Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO and the Beyerdynamic DT 880 PRO are both very good headphones for critical listening, but they have different sound profiles. nosto_anwendung:Relaxed music listening, sound enjoyment in the foreground At Home, Made in Germany 14 4.

Speed- this track features a very simple layering of instruments, but the mirco details in the guitar solo's make or break the track. The midrange, while a little distant for my tastes, is done real nicely and is pleasant to listen to. The DT 880's bass sounds thinner at first because it isn't boosted, but after listening for a while, one realizes that the DT 880 reproduces all the bass, especially the deepest bass at 30 Hz and below, while the bass boost bump of the DT 990 hides the lowest bass underneath it.

Many of the parts can also be exchanged and replaced, so you are guaranteed a product that is built to last.

The rear of the pads look identical, but I noticed the velour material goes farther back on the 880 pad before the seam. The treble boosts in the DT 990 and DT770 are peaky, and the bass of the DT 990 is somewhat boomy to the careful ear, with a broad peak around 60 Hz. I've compared the 32Ω and 600Ω versions directly to each other on my Apogee Duet 2, iPod Touch and Benchmark DAC1 HDR.in A Major, Op92, Allegro Con Brio" - From the very beginning of this track the DT880s display a wonderful sense of both powerful energy and delicate detail. It's the most satisfied I've been with a full sized can since starting my headphone journey in 2010, resulting in me keeping them for a good 2 and a half years. I have heard headphones like the V-Moda M-80 described as neutral but this is only true if you compare them to a 'bass-head's presentation like Dr.

If you could prop the DT 880 on a headphone stand or something to stretch it out it wouldn't take long to get the clamping force just right. DT 880's: Open, more treble, wide, less bass (but still enough for my taste),balanced and realistic. I'm paring them with a very warm analog DAP[DAC] (Hifiman Hm 601) and using a cMoy Bass Boost to give the bass that extra bit of KICK [+9.As for soundstage, there are hints of 3D in it, but it's too narrow and shallow to precisely position instruments. The original 1988 DT990 is much more muffled, but the old DT990 has sparklier (smoothly boosted) highs.
