How is it that only older sisters ever seem to get burdened with whiny younger siblings to drag along and look after while doing things like saving the world?

Rarely are there stories where people still care for each other but not always on the same side, so I appreciate seeing that happen here. I was utterly swept into this breath-taking adventure which has everything I love in epic fantasy: rich world-building; peril with a balance of hope; characters who have a close bond of friendship; fascinating, sentient creatures; hidden powers; and, a dark villain who influences from a mystical other world. A brilliantly immersive and action packed magical adventure filled with well developed characters, exciting world building and heaps of imagination. Although predictable plot twists are one of my pet peeves, I really enjoyed this story and it didn't negatively effect the experience of reading this story. It features magic and relatable school aged kids without the transphobia associated with a certain other fantasy series geared toward the same age group. In her free time, you can find her holed up in her room, gaming and watching anime (some of her favorites being Inuyasha, Dragon Ball Z, and Death Note), or attending numerous comic cons and gaming events.
