This shot was taken near the roadside, but you can also access the lakeshore slightly higher up via a footpath (near Hassness Country House), and the views from this point give a slightly different perspective again.

I’ve shot from this pike at many different times of year, and there is no month that wouldn’t this very photogenic landscape. But when the purple hwhich eather blooms among the limestone outcrops in summer it really does make for a very pleasing, colourful foreground. It also makes a great subject for a panoramic image. I like to include the contrasting flash of vibrant green on the other side of the lake, and its reflection. With four mountains reaching over 3000 ft, and many more with spectacular viewpoints over the various valleys and lakes, there’s a challenge available to suit everyone’s ability level.LEE: There are sixteen lakes in the Lake District and many Tarn’s (small mountain lakes) each with many areas of interest around them. One of my favourite areas within the Lake District is the town of Ambleside that sits at the head of Windermere, England's largest natural lake. There are a variety of walks and hiking trails around Windermere (as well as the rest of the Lakes) varying from gentle walks around the lake to more strenuous hikes in the fells.

I hope my top ten locations for landscape photography in the Lake District will prove a great starting point for when you visit, but this article barely scratches the surface. The four mountains are Scafell Pike (3208ft / 978m), Scafell (3164ft / 964m), Helvellyn (3117ft / 950m) and Skiddaw (3054ft / 931m). All of these mountains have hiking trails, but they have varying levels of difficulty and you should research them before going. The Lake District is one of the UK’s most stunning national parks and one of the absolute best places in the world for landscape photography. It features glacial lakes, rugged fells, and mountain views, as well as picturesque inns and attractive market towns.When you think of England, your mind probably jumps to Big Ben or the Tower Bridge or the centuries of history the country holds but breathtaking landscapes? That’s not something you immediately associate with England unless of course, you know the country well. Hidden up in the North Western part of the country lies a beautiful little place called the Lake District.

Blea Tarn nestles in the Little Langdale valley, adjacent to its larger cousin, just over the other side of Lingmoor Fell, Great Langdale. This entire area is festooned with breath-taking locations and a walk anywhere from either of these two valleys will be rewarding.Although the river is the most obvious focal point, my Image above shows it doesn’t necessarily have to be. It’s always worth looking all around for potential compositions. I’s sometimes surprising to find that your most successful images are not always the once you originally intended to take! Because we tend to carry quite a bit of kit, I’d probably recommend taking the path that starts near Manesty and avoids a slight scramble to the peak, which is required from the paths on the other side.
