As well as exploring the origins of many beloved and feared characters from the original Star Wars films, the Clone Wars also expanded on the prequel trilogy and became the source of some amazing Star Wars stories. The Clone Wars also help seed the rise of the Empire from the remains of the Republic. Many of the ships found in the original trilogy have variations used in the Clone Wars. That’s certainly the case with Yoda’s personal Starfighter. It was first featured in the Season 6 Clone Wars episode, Voices, in which Yoda is told to visit Dagobah by the fallen Jedi, Qui-Gon. The ship is a specially modified version of the Jedi Starfighter. Which later become the basis for a TIE Interceptor.

As with the 2017 set, there are two minifigures featured in this new set. They include Master Yoda and the trusty droid Artoo. Although both characters have appeared in many other sets, those featured in this set are the most updated versions of both. Artoo was recently given a better print design, with detailing now on the rear of the droid’s body. Yoda also features a unique torso, which is less detailed compared to the robes he wears in original trilogy-inspired sets. Perhaps LEGO should have included a small Technic display stand, which is becoming an increasingly common appearance in sets nowadays. More manuals of Lego Frequently Asked Questions about Lego set 75168 Star Wars Yodas Jedi starfighter Why is “Surprising choice of subject” regarded as a negative? Shouldn’t that be a *positive*, if it’s listed at all?" is the 20th Anniversary of The Clone Wars, which has done a lot in terms of transforming Star Wars fans to prequel trilogy fans. To commemorate this milestone, LEGO has released several Clone Wars-themed sets this year, one of which is 75360 Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter. To be honest, I’m not sure why LEGO decided to revisit Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter in 2023. The model is a decent update from the 2017 version, but not a lot has fundamentally changed to warrant a new version of a pretty obscure craft. Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter will be available from LEGO.com from 1 August 2023, alongside the other August 2023 LEGO Star Wars wave. Two minifigures are included – a bit low for this price point – and they are Yoda and R2-D2. Yoda is unchanged since this minifigure first appeared in 2013, but has a nice rubber head element and decent torso printing. Still, an Ahsoka could make sense too since I think she's only available in the ghost. But just re-using her adult figure wouldn't make sense - they don't have her cheaply available like younger Obi-Wan last year.

Putting the ship into flight mode allows you to see the inner grey wings. These don’t have much detail but are mounted at an angle, thanks to some hinge plates.

I think maybe you're focusing on sort of just the semantics of the phrasing? Perhaps if it was more like low demand model choice it would more clearly be a negative. It's obviously subjective either way if the subject matter is interesting or not, but at least this way it would just be clear that LEGO making a surprise choice was unambiguously meant negatively. Certainly no one felt Mace Windu and the republic tank last year was bad so that was a good surprise.

Innovation [2] – In many aspects, this is just the 2017 Yoda’s Starfighter set rereleased with some decent upgrades, but nothing significant.

Sadly though, LEGO continues to struggle when printing the dome properly, as the dark blue band around Artoo's head is obviously askew. R2-D2 needs no accessories, but Yoda comes equipped with his green lightsaber, as ever. A 3L blade would probably be more appropriate for the Jedi Master, so I wonder whether that has been considered. Still, prequel fans might find something to like here, especially if you don’t already have the 2017 set or a modern Yoda minifigure.
